I love a good deal as much as the next author, but is Scrivener free, really? Sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? As it turns out, you can get Scrivener for free ... ish...Scrivener Windows Download TorrentHow to get a Scrivener trial for free

The votes have been tallied and the results are in—Scrivener is the defacto writing software. Fiction, non-fiction, novels, graphic novels, blog posts, research papers... There's precious little you can't do inside Scrivener!

Even non-English speaking areas are big fans of this software, like these German bloggers and their super niche books about deep fryer recipes.

But what about Scrivener's scary learning curve?

Ah, the 'learning curve' argument. Here's the deal. If you can learn Word, you can learn to use Scrivener. And you'll get way more awesome results and productivity out of Scrivener, free or not.Scrivener Windows Download Windows 7

Psst... You really should buy it.

The compile function alone is worth the cost, because publishing to the many versions you'll need for both eBook and print are way easier inside Scrivener. Add to that the versioning you can do with snapshots, dragging and dropping scenes and chapters (folders) and the 'do not disturb' isolated writing features, and if you're serious at all about becoming a full-time, part-time of freelance writer, you're gonna buy the thing eventually.

Okay, that's my lame sales pitch—short and sweet. I suggest that you just skip all this 'free' stuff and buy Scrivener at a discount. If you're going to be a writer for longer than 30 days, you won't regret it.
